Anthropology is the study of human beings and societies in the past and present. The research conducted by the Department of Human Biology staff covers a wide range of topics and areas of anthropology. Some of the research topics include:

  • evolutionary perspective on human behaviour (evolutionary psychology)
  • human reproductive behaviour (physiological and psychological aspects)
  • human biological condition (immunological, physiological and morphological correlates)
  • medieval populations analyzed on the basis of bone remains
  • mechanisms of human evolution
  • clinical anthropology
  • biological aspects of human migration and socio-economic mobility
  • socioeconomic and biological factors determining human growth and development
