Research interests:
I am interested in various aspects of human population biology and ecology.
My most recent research is on biological background of social mobility and migration with particular focus on the intra and inter-generational social and geographical mobility in the British national cohorts in relation to height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI), as well as other biosocial and biomedical variables – birth order, number of children in family, educational attainment of child and father, educational and cognitive tests (reading, mathematics, verbal and non-verbal IQ tests), total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, etc.
I am also interested in mating patterns for a variety of characteristics including age, educational attainment, socioeconomic status, region and physical variables, such as height, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI) as well as psychological traits and behavior, i.e. intelligence, interests and hobbies, attitudes, personality in modifying the structure of human populations.
I also work on socioeconomic variation in biological traits, especially height, weight, BMI and age at menarche.
